During childhood we need a rigid, early sleep schedule (those of you with kids know how irritating it can be when your 4 year old wakes you up at 5:30 in the morning). Adolescents prime sleep hours are anywhere between 2am and 2pm, and as we progress to adults should shift back to a more conventional schedule. Simply going to bed early may alleviate sleep deprivation, but it is not necessarily the "best." We humans aren't strctly diurnal creatures

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

When I wake up at 4pm as I usually do everyday I feel like crap cause I've wasted my prime daylight hours. If you don't like waking up in the morning go to bed earlier! I'd give anything to get my mornings back.

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

I heartily disagree. I awake every morning about 4 to 5 am, virtually jump out of bed and embrace each day with zest.
call me weird, I could care less :)

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

The third point is not really valid. Cortisol is indeed released into your blood in the morning, but that's because one of it's functions is to help wake you up.

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

What is a creativity test?

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

I have worked in either the retail industry or the entertainment industry 95% of my working life. I am the furthest thing from being a morning person. I don't really become productive until after lunch. I am working on becoming a morning person but it is rough.

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

I've always wanted a night job but most available night jobs involve either 711's or factory work

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

This is why I have a night job. After years of dragging myself out of bed for school and day jobs, I can finally stick to the schedule my body desired. Oddly enough, on the rare day I have to wake up early now- I'm not nearly as lethargic and irritable as I used to be.

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

Some people actually like their work, but still have to get up at hours they might prefer to sleep. I'm self-employed, so I can do a lot of my work on my own time, but strangely enough you can't actually meet with clients at 2 AM...

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

I'm guessing that the "wannabe Tyler Durdens" don't have kids. I'm also going to guess that they haven't graduated yet.

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

I agree with Wylie. I don't particularly like my job. But I do like good food, travel, a car that runs consistently, etc. I f you have all that without working, then you are probably a daddy's boy/girl.

Sleeping in does rock. I'd say I get 90% of my work done in the last couple hours of the work day anyway.

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

Three cheers for wannabe Tyler Durdens!! Work blows, but it's a necessary evil. I like food, hot water, cable, internet, and sex in a bed that I -own-. So... Though it sucks, I'll stick to the 9-5 thanks.

The sleeping info, however... is pretty damned cool. I'm already a night person, and now I have a good reason to be. xD

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

yeah.... i hate working for a roof over my head and fuck food! i want to live with my parents for the rest of my life!

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

hell yea fuck work.... another large number paycheck THE DAY GETS WASTED

Re: 3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late

Why work Jobs you hate to buy things you dont need.
